Field research, carried out as part of the Protection Plan, showed the occurrence of 759 species of vascular plants in the area of the Magura National Park. The total amount of vascular plants found in the MNP by the 1st of February 2010 is 771. The flora of the MNP has a transitional character between the Eastern and Western Carpathians. The share of the typical eastern elements, consisting of 7 species, is similar to the share of the typical western ones, represented by 8 species.

In the area of the Magura National Park 74 mountain species were found, including 2 subalpine species (Austrian Leopard’s-bane Doronicum austriacum, Alpine Sow-thistle Cicerbita alpina), 22 all-mountain (Alchemilla crinita, Mountain Marigold Caltha laeta, Pleurospermum Pleurospermum austriacum, Alpine Squill Scilla bifolia, Three-leaved Valerian Valeriana tripteris, American False Hellebore Veratrum lobelianum), 44 of the forest zone (Ramsons Allium ursinum, Glandular Toothwort Dentaria glandulosa, Perennial Honesty Lunaria rediviva, Braun’s Holly Fern Polystichum braunii, Wood Speedwell Veronica Montana), and 6 submountain species (Pendulous Sedge Carex pendula, Rosemary Willowherb Chamaenerion palustre, Bog Myrte Myricaria germanica ). Altogether the mountain species are 9.75% of the total flora of the MNP, what is typical for the lower range of the Beskidy Mts.

An important role in the flora of the Magura NP play the xerothermic (thermophilous) plants, represented by 58 species (e.g. Blue Bugle Ajuga genevensis, Common Barberry Berberis vulgaris, Narrow-leaved Bellflower Campanula persicifolia, Greater Knapweed Centaurea scabiosa, Maiden Pink Dianthus deltoides, Irish Fleabane Inula salicina, Marjoram Origanum vulgare, Silver Cinquefoil Potentilla argentea, Lilac Sage Salvia verticillata, Yellow Scabious Scabiosa ochroleuca, Large Hop Trefoil Trifolium ochroleucon ).
The occurrence of 64 protected and 11 partially protected species signifies the positive floral aspects of the Magura National Park.
Among other groups of plants in the area of the Park we can find:
• 163 species of moss (including 42 mountain species and 22 species which hasn’t been given yet from the Polish part of the Beskid Niski Mts.)
• 51 species and 2 varieties of liverworts (26 species of which are mountain species)
• 51 slime molds
• 463 species of large-fructification fungi (17 of them are strictly protected species)
