The Magura National Park covers one of the richest forest fauna refuge, typical for the forest zone and foothills, in the Carpathians. The fauna has a transitional character between the Western and Eastern Carpathians, but the Eastern Carpathians features are stressed stronger. There are almost no alpine elements as the summits are not very high.
